ridgewood-warns--after coyotes sighting

Recommended Posts

That may provide comfort to Saddle River, but until the coyotes disperse, some residents have asked borough officials to consider lethal means of removing the coyotes in their midst.

“I understand there’s a great concern for the ecosystem, but there’s a great concern for the safety of the members of this community,” D’Elia said. “I beg you — please do not let it get to the point where a child is injured or killed because we are afraid to take some sort of action.”

This I find very comical, the same people that fight FOR the bears, now want the yotes killed...cant make it up...

I got a call from a resident of Saddle River last summer to look at his section of the Saddle River for possible stream channel restoration.  He lives in a huge house away from the river, but still owns another home that is currently vacant right on the river.  The vacant home has become the feeding area for the yotes, and his yard was literally littered with deer carcasses.  A spine here, a rib there, the odd skull and other bones scattered all over his yard.  With nobody living there and few visitors, the coyotes have figured out that they can hang out in his yard and drag dead deer there to eat.  The floodplain around the river is loaded with deer, rabbits, turkey, etc., and the coyotes cannot be legally hunted.  It was the most coyote sign I have ever seen anywhere in the country.

Let them eat cake!

i'm sorry - i just have to say something ...... nice avatar, Sleestak   (sorry, way off topic)

as for these people, do they not realize that their attitude of anti-deer hunting directly relates to their coyote problem? Or is it because Disney has a cute deer but not a cute coyote that they can relate to?

isn't that the town that just pasted that they are going to spay their does to control the deer population??....guess the coyotes got the memo that they won't be killed there and are moving in lol

This happens when you let the town veterinarian try to play God.

Andrew Burnett, NJFW mentioned these towns are handcuffing themselves with rules and regs til there are no options left.

There is always trapping.
