Ladies panty hose under your pants will protect you from most bites as they usually bite you below the underwear band....haven't had the balls to try them because I have a pair & I'm not sure if they'll fit in panty hose & it could look mighty strange to roll up on some dude putting on panty hose in the woods.  Alternative is bring a lint roller & roll your legs after your hunt.

I wouldn't think twice if I saw a guy putting on panty hose :) I heard of lots of people doing that to keep the critters at bay. I contemplated it myself, but permethrin treated clothes has worked well for me so haven't had a need. IIRC, we had guys in the military using hose - in basic training, I think it was to avoid getting blisters wearing new boots that we had to break in. Can't remember exactly, too long ago - but I do know guys were wearing them.

I need to ask - you people getting chiggers - are you walking out in the woods in shorts? I never, ever go in the woods with shorts, I don't care how hot it is. Tuck long pants in the boots, and make sure the clothes are treated.

About a month ago we took a walk in wharton. A buddy of mine, his Dad and myself. I forgot to treat my clothes. Theirs were not treated either. Me and my buddy got lucky as we didnt get chggers but his Dad did. We were wearing rubber boots and he was wearing regular boots. Besides that, (Knock on wood), once I started using permethrin Ive been good ever since
