Fresh Off the Spinner

Here is an MHX 843 fast action, medium heavy power 7' rod I twisted up the other day. This blank will be used for lighter jigs, worming, and throwing frogs and buzzbaits. Blank is extremely light and has a ton of power in the lowerhalf of the blank with a fast tip. Cant wait to fish it. Simple 2 tone chevron for some subtle flash. Im happy with the tigerwrap on the split grip portion, first tiger so there is room for improvement. Looks pretty trippy. Thanks for looking in in the sun, any pointers let me here em! Also cant seem to rotate! My apologies.

Wow. Did you paint that? Sorry.. I don't know what "spinner" means..

I was thinking a machine used to crest an arrow but idk..

Have any photos of it going through the process? Very curious. Looks awesome.

Thanks for rotating! Jay and lunatic, its actually a relatively simple process, but the detail and patience aspect can make or break the end result. The effects you see on the tigerwrap are basically made by laying down 2 contrasting colors, epoxying over it, then laying another color down ontop. The epoxy creates a lense effect and the top thread will "melt" into the colors on the bottom creating the pattern and Id say I spend the most time wrapping thread, alligning the guides, and applying mutliple thin coats of epoxy. The grip and realseat are fairly quick. All in all real "work" time on this rod was about two good nights work maybe 10hrs. I am not an expert by any means. Thanks for the kind words. It is very addicting if your geeky about gear like I am haha! Maybe next one I will take more pics along the way!
