Ocean fluking

Got out today for the afternoon and tried some fluking in the ocean.  First 5 minutes of fishing I get a 19.5". Thought it was going to be good. Well it was slow. My uncle and I catch 14 fluke, one Ling and about a dozen seabass. We only kept 2 fluke and the ling. Released a 18.5". Felt good to get out on the big water. Fishing should improve as the water warms up. Water was 66.5 degrees this afternoon.  Oh and I caught the ling on my 4 ft UL trout rod in 65 ft of water..

Fished in the Raritan bay on Friday and we caught 28 fluke and half were keepers. Biggest 22". Crabs in the bay are starting to get bad too. Fished with peanut bunker and the crabs were relentless. Even hitting the Gulp. Caught 4 blue claws just lifting them into the boat. Almost save them but decided to just release them. We kept 2 fluke over 20" and one slot fish. The one my uncle is holding was released.
