Rem Mag
Wow, looks and sounds like an incredible adventure.... wishing you luck with one of those giants ... very eager to see deer down pics... At least it seems you are "into them"... and getting some stalks and close encounters..... in the end it's still bow hunting .....and out west....where it seems the stars need to be lined up and everything else also needs to be perfect for an ethical shot..... they aren't some Jersey corn pile deer...lol.... Jerzguy2
I wish I could have put you on a hunt and follow your daily stalks on bucks in Colorado. Every night you could glass them in a neighbors field from my buddies porch, across the road. The problem being a half mile private, no hunting, pasture buffer from the road to the Federal forest where they spent their days. Had a neighbor that would do stalking like you, from the entrance to the Fed. land several miles down the road behind all the private land to hunt these beautiful bucks. You are doing it right, keep the pictures coming, living the dream of a "real" hunter.

Tater1973
Day #7 - First and foremost I want to say a prayer for all the Americans who lost their lives 19 years ago on this tragic day. Next, good luck to everyone who will be hunting tomorrow in NJ. Today was a day I want to forget! I decided to get up an hour earlier and hike up above the deer that have been using the river bottom at night. Glass from high to locate bucks and hope that the bucks that have been using the badlands to bed do it again. WELL..I broke a golden rule, “when you see antler tips draw your damn bow”!!! Glasses several bucks down in the river bottom. Then at 720 am (920 am your time) two great bucks a 6x6 & 5x5 are working towards me. I grab my bow, release, bino/range finder and haul ass down the hill to the saddle they will cross. I got there without incident and four minutes later the 6x6 comes into view at 22 yards. Then the 5x5 on his heals. SOOOO...there I am with two great deer at 22 yards broadside and my bow is not drawn. In my defense I did give it the ol’ college try...those bucks took off faster than I don’t know what!!! I licked my wounds and laughed out loud. Called the wife and she called me a loser😂. I spent the middle of the day doing laundry and reflecting on the mornings events. It was HOT 85 degrees with no wind. Not ideal stalking conditions. I spent the evening glassing for tomorrow morning. Enjoy the pics... Sunrise Where I broke the golden rule!!! Block Management- Opens thousands of acres to public hunting. Tools I use for glassing. Good glass is a must out here because you spend hours behind it. MT bloom... Camp duty today... Sunset with memories made!!!
