Dwarf Mutant Trout

Looks like a Sunfish breed with a Rainbow in the hatchery . Funny thing is I caught this same mutant yesterday when I caught 17. He drop back in the water before I could get a picture so I didn't say anything about it. (No picture it didn't happen).

Fish this afternoon again and caught 51 rainbows but nothing over 12" and the mutant. Eggs were the big ticket today.

Don't normally grow big but there they're feisty little suckers in fast running streams. Had the pleasure of taking a few in your neck of the woods John on the toms River.

Yeah I have caught i think 2 others over the years.

We can't all be pretty.  I haven't used eggs in years.  I just stick with lures or power bait.

Dennis i use what ever works. You know you have to be ready for everything. I rather catch on lures for sure but I guess that cold front had them a little sluggish.

I know.  I used to use them all the time but since power bait came out it's just easier.   I have another batch going in the smoker today.
