I've been drinking from this stream for the past 3 weeks and I haven't died yet.   Maybe I should bottle and sell this stuff to all the people that are going crazy at the stores.

 We filter water from streams when we backpack.  First time, my wife and I backpacked she asked why is the water brown after filtration? Told her it was the tannins from the leaves. Needless to say, she refused to drink it....

I've peed in that stream many times myself.  It adds electrolytes.
