It’s Coming...

I ordered a “U-finish” bow from Charles at Two Tracks a couple of weeks ago. The other day he posted a teaser video of it on IG.

To say I’m floored would be an understatement. It’s gorgeous. 

Hopefully I will see it show up at home in a week or so. Then I’ll do my part.

A couple more pics. 

Charles reached out this morning and said it will ship today. To say I’m thrilled would be an understatement. 

Riser is Osage and walnut. Veneers are curly maple stained green.

Looks Good! Whats the length and weight? What work needs to be done to finish the bow? 

Pretty interesting. I might have to check one of these out.

Bow is 56”. #45 @28 is the hope. 

Grip and shelf need final shaping.  Bow needs finish sanding and tiller will need to be checked and adjusted. It will also need to be cleared. 

It should be since little project to keep me out of trouble for a moment.

I got the bow in hand Wednesday. 

She was for sure on the rough side. That said, I’m beyond thrilled.

I did a little work on the handle last night. She’s coming along.

Next up will be a modern take on a selfbow. I have a board of Ipe and will be grabbing a board of Hickory shortly. Should be another fun little project.
