Man pickerel get a bad wrap, they are AMAZING to eat. Just take the backbone out and don't even bother with the other bones.

Funny u say that.....AJ said he wanted to eat it....i said they were too boney, let's try n catch a calico cuz we can eat that!  Lol

Yeah, all of the Esox species are very bony, but they taste great.  You can take two fillets off each side and avoid 99% of the bones, and then carefully run your fingers through the meat to find any hidden ones before preparing them.
