Santee Cooper Trip

Back from my home away from home in southern Georgia. Spent the week deer hunting, saw a lot of deer but none I could shoot. Always a great time getting together with old friends, they treat me like one of the family.👍

On the way home, went catfishing with Darryl Smith of youtube fame. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfyGpmmVl1g   Had a decent day fishing, (Lake Moultrie on the Santee Cooper system). I had often read about the lake & saw it on TV, finally got a chance to try my luck there. My dropper Maizy tagged along for company.🐕

Nice trip.  We went with Cajun Guide Service and had a great trip.  Many fish up to 30 pounds last June.

Yes, I think I remember reading that review. This was really the only time I had, so I went during the day. We wound up with 25 keepers, threw a handful back that were on the smaller side. The biggest one looked to be about 12#. The captain said it was a slow day, but I was more than satisfied. We'll be eating blue catfish for many months to come.

Blackened catfish, catfish gumbo, fried catfish with cornmeal crust, sauted catfish with buerre blanc sauce, catfish nuggets, catfish sandwich...

Tonight's dinner will be catfish stew, with pictures to follow.
