As soon as boys finished their homework we made the hour drive to hit the beach for a couple hours. Relatively quiet afternoon /evening. Only had one bite but we made it count. 35" bluefish. Took a bunker chunk. We bled it and iced it asap. My kids love bluefish surprisingly. I like blues but the 2lb variety. Haha.

That's great!  Friend of mine and I were out at Sandy Hook this evening also.  Skates, sand sharks, sea robins, 3 blue fish and one short bass.  A lot of action, but no big bass.   Didn't hear of anyone doing much.

Stomach contents from that bluefish 5 heads and a tail section. And he still had the nerve to eat my chunk. Lol

From a few people I spoke with it was a relatively quiet day. Too bright for any large bass.

I had one real good hit on a bunker head.  Rod went down so hard I could not get it out of the holder.  Got off soon after that.  Bunker head was a little mangled so I am thinking maybe a real big blue.  I found a 40-50 black drum dead, washed up on the beach also.
