Nice job on locating your deer!  A few years ago I walked past my deer at least a dozen times and never saw him only to be found by a rabbit hunter's beagles later that winter.  In my defense the tracking dog, that couldn't smell his own farts, also walked past it a dozen times.

My arrow was still in him, broke the last rib and looked like it was stuck in the opposite side rib. Stunk too bad to really dig in but exactly where I thought I hit him, just a few inches higher than I thought. I was using Grim Reaper Whitetail specials. Been using them for 5-6 years and this is the first deer I lost with them. Still not sure why he didn't bleed at all

Great ending to this. Way to not give up and stay looking for him. Good lesson for some of the new hunters on here. It happens, and when it does stay with it like you did.
