No matter how one looks at it The Swap has to be Drained when did the parties in Government become Us Against Them.

This has all gotten so divided that they no longer have the people's interest front and center as soon as they get elected they are in Campaign mode.  It won't be long before it is an uprising like other 3rd-world countries.

When without any warnings NJ residents are thrown out of places their Tax Dollars have Created.  Plans made some years before to finally enjoy The well earned  Holladay weekend Ironically Independence day.

Not to leave out all the expensive residents incurred by losing Deposits Travel Rentals Millions lost but being evicted 10:00 am on the 2nd day for most the 1st day.

Just the thought of being told Pack it up and get out we are closed.

But the outrage and memories will fade Just as Gas Tax Hike in NJ.  and the same A-Holes will be back next week like nothing happened.   only the 1000s affected by the shutdown will have memories to tell around the Next Campfire.

Vote Out every sitting Politician at every level ---------   that would be an NJ first people actually Caring or even know who represents them.  protesters are called trouble makers when the rest are Called SHEEP which are you,

This bullshit has got to end. All these parks paid for by us and no one can go. I can only imagine IBSP this weekend. Paying hundreds for a beach buggy pass and its worthless right now. This state is just pathetic. No other word for it.

Maybe time to Turn IBSP and a few others to the National Parks as Sandy Hook National Park was years ago but even that IS F-U as  do nothing Park,

Voting them "ALL" out would send a message..... unfortunately that will never happen.

I thought, growing old would take longer !

I spent most of my money on shotguns and fly rods.  The rest I just wasted.

It's too easy for them to shut it down. We need a measure on the ballot for voters to approve that requires a 2/3 rds vote in the Legislature (both Houses) to shut it down, make them vote for a shutdown, not just let it shut down by doing nothing. Right now there is too much power in the hands of one or two people (Christie and Prieto or Sweeney).

I would like a new party. All the folks on the far right, and all the folks on the far left .... can all just stay in their playpens. While all the reasonable people in the middle come together and stop all this stupidity, and govern this country

It happens in federal government, too. I hunt in the Delaware Water Gap, a few years ago I had to miss the beginning of Fall Bow season because they shut down the government the night before the opener.

I love the fact that everything closes except NJ lottery, NJ toll booths, and NJ casinos.  LOL.    That's so Jersey.

Oh, and NJ Transit too for safety reasons.

I wish they stayed shut-down more often = less taxpayer waste.

Not really. They still have to spend all the money they would have anyway, plus it's more paid vacation days for many public employees, and less revenue for many of the places closed and the businesses around them.

What you really want is a Government that works to reduce taxpayer waste, when they work, and other than that, do no harm (pass no more stupid laws and regs).

But it doesn't have to work like that.

What burns me up is when they do exactly as you say, and they pay them anyway.  When any business shuts down, hourly workers dont get paid in full, they lose out, but of course the government tends to vote to do exactly as you say and pay them in full..........because........government.   As the NJ government is so liberal, I'm sure you will likely be correct in this case.
