I can't believe you all you guys missed the best thing to come from this week in politics...

 

Instead of working on a budget -- WE GOT SPARKLERS!

 I would rather vote in the mailman, garbageman, high school teacher, etc over any sitting politician or anyone that has held any political office before. We need to hound these pos about working on the wants and needs of the people or they get voted out the very next election. Until people stop doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, nothing will change. It proves how many insane people live in this world.

That pretty much describes the Tea Party movement to a "T" (pun intended) but once in Government, it seems the allure of spending lots of other people money takes over. 

 

I posted something something previously on this thread about Government working to reduce waste, etc, and a response was "PIPE DREAM'. Yes, I know, they will never work like that because the power and money surrounding Government seems to be too tempting for most to overcome.

Nope, try again.  Misinformation is spread by the gov't, local, state, federal and media regarding how we "need" gov't to have a life. Just like the media is doing now and you are doing now.  The most dangerous person to powerful people is the one who is informed and can actually think for him or herself.  It's easy to call out people as "misinformed" when you don't agree with them or can't support your position with a logical argument.  Doesn't make you a bad person, just not able to lay out a logical argument in support of your position.

Very accurate! It's easy spending other people's money. I am far from being an money expert, but taking the surplus from Horizon sounds like Whitman spending pension money.

They have seen our frustration with the election of Trump but it didnt mean anything. Meanwhile our governor and family are vacationing with ibsp to themselves. To do this, this week is an ridiculous but i am not suprised with idiots in charge.

PIPE DREAM.  Gov't will never work because of the entrenched interests of the people that work in gov't and you know it.   How about a max on vacation days for PE?  15 days, use em or loose em and they don't get paid for them if they never use them.  Civil service unions will never go for it, because they don't have an interest in reducing waste, just make the taxpayer pay more.  It will end one day. 

 

I have news for you, they are use em or loose em already. As for the 15 days max, my wife gets 20 days of vacation in the private sector and I could have had 20 days after 15yrs of service. So why a limit for PE if they put the time in?

Politicians from both parties have forgotten about the people they represent a long time ago. However, Vincent Prieto seems to bear responsibility for this shut down. He, Sweeney and Christie had a deal and Prieto reneged on the Horizon provision. Ironically, Sweeney and Loretta Weinberg even blame Prieto for this.

Welcome back to Earth since you have been away A beach house was Built, Rebuilt, Replaced, By The STATE of New Jersey with Taxpayer Funds.

From The Park Police stationed at the entrance Blocking entrance but for The Governor and His Guests State Police Escorts Body Guards, House staff. Lifeguard with beach access. 

All this when he should be in Trenton along with every Politician DEM. REPB. working out on the Budget that effects 1000s or State Workers and their wages Effects Millions of Residents during a well Earned Anticipated Holiday. 

On and ON 

They could have put forth an emergency budget to forestall the shutdown just as the Federal Gov. did but then The Democrats would not have a Scapegoat for the upcoming election. Or Blame it on The Russians.  

Spin it any way you want this is a prime example of Government for its Self, not The People. 

But NJ is unique we still have the Beaches that we pay for and still, have to pay to sit on them and pay to park. pay the Tolls to get there.   

 

 You want beach replenishment the photos are how A Small Persian Gulf state can Build Sand up and Build a self-contained City It is called The PALMS.  OH, yea that is not a State project but a Government project. But So are the Beach Replenishment in New Jersey.   

 The Politicians be it local or Federal have Dragged this nation down to where we are becoming the 3rd world in every department.  And now we have a president willing to make changes and the Statuesque Dems. & Repub. are fighting him to keep their good old Boy Clubs going.
