I personally don’t shoot jakes. But I have zero issues with someone that does.

Not really a turkey hunter but I have shot 1 really nice gobbler

I ran into a lot more jakes the last 2 springs without taking one. 
 

5 different times in 23 n 3 in 22.
 

 

hope Their are some 2 and 3 year olds around 

Long beards are smart they send the dumb kids in first   
 

had one sneak in like that    I happened to look out of the corner of my eye I had jakes to my right and I see a turkey standing there left.   I said there’s another jake.   because he was silent then I saw him , he takes two steps and I saw his beautiful on the ground

Wild Turkey is my favorite game meal so I can care less about the beard and spurs.  Love a wild turkey breast with all the trimmings!

May as well use a .22 as to not damage any meat.  Why take any chances?!
