I have not shot the TOA broadheads, but will probably buy a set this year.

Might be worth to try the Magnus Black Hornet heads. These things put a huge hole in deer. Very durable head also. Extremely sharp out of the package, but I do touch them up.

Only thing I don’t like about the Black hornets is they really whistle .

I am partial to very quiet shooting heads .

Yet I don’t like non vented heads either due to poor long range performance .

tough splitting the line on both .

Undecided where , but will be setting up a bow specifically for it this spring .

arrows will be right about 500 . Probably shooting 70/72#

toughest part for me is going back to a fixed head , as I’m so used to the huge expandable heads .

when you lay a 2” whitetail special next to a 1 1/8” head it looks like a tractor trailer next to a Volkswagen Beetle .

.

seems most guys elk hunting are shooting the 1” , im going to shoot the 1 3/16” if I stick with these .

of course I will have to shoot a bunch of the other great fixed heads .

‘Iron wills , Solids , Valkyrie to name a few .

.

Dan, in case you missed it, I took down this Monster with a 150 gr Slick Trick. The arrow made a complete passthru and the blades were all sharp and intact. Slick Tricks are amazing. They are replaceable blades and scary sharp.

Slick trick makes a lot of great heads .

they make a great hole , but they whistle bad .

As I said on a previous post I really prefer a quiet head .

OK. I read a lot of reviews and am on archery hunting forums all the time and really don't remember complaints about them whistling.

But if that's your experience I can't blame you. Lots of great heads to be had.

I normally have a pretty good ocd for arrow noise in flight. I have set up my camera at the target to shoot different vanes and broadheads to see what kind of noise it picks up. My Neanderthal set up has got me to see that the arrow is behind the arrow, as where the arrow has been not where it is going. I have also taken several deer with the Black hornets and have not had a deer react to the noise or a whistle. Personally I do not hear a noise with them.

Now these findings have been my own findings and by no means am I saying everyone’s findings. Just me.

But I will probably own some TOA arrows to play with in the off season.

Usually only vented heads “hiss” - no? And not all do.   At least that has been my experience. I suppose any design has the potential though

Nothing spooks deer more than my stank…

Pretty much , but some are louder than other .

problem with non vented heads is none will ever shoot as good at longer ranges as the same head in a vented style .

‘Staying under 40 the non vented are great .

Let us know how they shoot.   I was considering buying some of the XLs too.

I agree with Ron on the black hornets.  I've been using them for a while now.  Haven't noticed any real whistling based on my camera tests, they fly great and leave a nasty entrance and exit hole.

Since I do love the VPA solids as a COC self sharpen head, these AIMDORARCHERY heads  sure look nice. https://aimdorarchery.com/products/aimdor-x3-x5-100-125-grains-hunting-broadheads-12-pcs-for-crossbow-recurve-bow-and-compound-bow?currency=USD&variant=39760509796400&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIo8-rid6Q9QIVncmUCR1AdQFDEAQYCyABEgIV8PD_BwE

And I have nothing but great reviews on the QAD exodus heads for Elk as well - chisel tip with replaceable blades. The are not vented but have a design that may excel way down range.  Slightly bigger cut they offer 1 1/4”.

Sorry I keep mentioning him but Lusk Archery named Quad Exodus one of the best fixed replaceable blade BH's.

I believe the aimdor heads are a Chinese knockoff to the VPA aNd their other models a knock off of the montecs and hell razors , and at 39 bucks for 12 heads I wouldn’t expect super quality lol

‘possibly all their heads are MIT molded , not CNC.…

QAD  has always been a great head  .
