How do you shoot to the side or behind you?

I don't, as I sacrifice full field of view shooting opportunity for added concealment.  Works for Compound or Xbow depending on how high you place the roof support. Works very similar to a pop-up blind on the ground.

Ok, I was assuming you could not.
it works for you it would not for me. I shoot many deer to the side and behind me, I’m guessing more than in front of me. Maybe because I don’t hunt over bait? I also set up so my shots could come to my left, I’m right handed

Tom,

I used military camo for years and I got to say that it seem to work OK, however after I got out my access to scrap camo dried up and I STOPPED USING IT. I think I am doing better without the camo by just staying still in the stand, your profile is smaller and IMO it is less noticeable to the deer than a STILL BODY.  JUST MY OPINION

I’m a big fan of setting up tree stands in good natural cover. Of course it helps that we have beeches to use. I also like burlap or in this case a rubberized surround that keeps the wind out from your waist down.

Fake pine garland stuff (christmas stuff with out the lights)can be wrapped around the legs of a ladder stand to hide it pretty well. Have also tied on small felled trees and branches.
