How did the sweet potatoes come out?  I had the best baking potatoes I ever had this year.  Wife gave me some cuts from a sweet potato that I stuck in late, probably way too late for them to come up.  Want to try them next year.

I'm embarrassed to post this after seeing everyone else's gardens but our mountain maters have been delicious this year.  The soil is thin and rocky up here but the maters have been plentiful and yummy.

I'm looking to buy a 10x10x10 hoop house  to place in my garden....anyone use one and anyone have any info......I see many bigger ones for sale but not many small ones.....Thanks in advance.....

I am browsing the mail order seed catalogues while ‘athrone’ these days.

Grew Sugar Baby watermelons last year which were fantastic - will be trying them again for sure.

Move beyond the garden.  I didn’t do one here after our move but still enjoyed some great foraging here on the eastern shore.

 

started with some chicken of the woods over the summer, foraged a bunch of beautiful pecans from a couple trees, enough for a pecan pie, pecan cookies and danish and enough for more.  Today I picked off a great winter oyster flush.  So tomorrow night is venison steak with onion mushroom sauté ... great eats on the shore!
