  1. Yes. Those warblers are an ‘umbrella species’ so when the habitat is just right for them it also benefits a whole plethora of other species.
  2. I am crap with full names but there was a guy called John from Audubon, a forester named Don and a division biologist called Sharon.
  3. Hawaii, California, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Washington, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Missouri, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Alaska, Texas, Colorado.
  4. Went to see the impact of the songbird habitat and forest improvements that Audubon has been doing over the past few years. Amazing to see what science led work can achieve. After the tour I went further in by the Edison Memorial to answer the call of nature and walked past a rather large black bear less than 8 feet away. Saw a dark object in my peripheral vision, did a double take which confirmed that it was a rather large bear just looking at me and immediately decided to head back to the car. As I walked back past the bear (I did not want it between me and my escape route) it bolted deeper into the trees about 10 yards away still watching me and I did not push my luck. I was a amazed that I was able to stay relaxed as I walked quite purposefully back to the vehicle with the dog. First time for me to be that close to a live Bruin and I am glad that my dog was steady the whole time too.
  5. Wow! Best of luck to you SS for the future. You are an inspiration for sure.
  6. You are one sick fnck dude LOL

  8. Dry flies at least - a weighted cone head muddled minnow or zonker will probably be good on Saturday though…
  9. We had at least 6.5” in my rain gauge this morning just across the river in Bethlehem township .
  10. Over 6" recorded in my garden raingauge and the USGS gauge in Bloomsbury is either flawed or records are being set!
  11. It is just crazy what Manhattan has turned into. Even the New York Times reported this attack: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/18/nyregion/hatchet-attack-nyc-charged.html It is just crazy what crazy people can do!

  15. Wow - that makes me feel better. At that guy has it worse than me:
  16. Leave HH alone! At least he is making an effort to lose weight by using a bicycle to get around these days:
  17. Getting my 10th booster shot tomorrow:
  18. I used to do on my Weber too. I had a pan with holes in it. Simply cooked one side over the coals then took it out. Flipped it so the cooked side was up put the toppings on and back on the Weber she went. Everyone always asked for more. Try it. The worst that will happen is that you will burn some pizza dough learning to tune your set up Have not done it yet this year but things are chaotic to say the least in my yard right now.
  19. But hey, if you ask they will say no and then be looking for you… Telefante (from the other site and sadly no longer with us) used to sleep in a cave sometimes deep in a WMA before hunting if I remember the conversation properly.
