tjfslaughter
I hate it. But luckily a friend of mine has a drywall sanding vacuum that he paid dearly for and I can borrow it. Rusty
Gunsmoke
Taping is fine it's the sanding and reapplying another coat of spackle and then doing it again.
tjfslaughter
Just helped a friend do 2 rooms and 2 closets in his house. I paid a guy I know to hang the boards. He hung the 23 boards in 3 hours and I taped. I do an OK job but the sander makes up for my lack of skills. jerseyhunter
I only use tape for inside corners, mesh for joints. Take your time, not so heavy and wipe off excess. I'd rather put on 4 coats than to sand esp. in a occupied house. New construction, who cares about the dust. Ps. some cold ones help to wash down the dust. buckhound

Mesh on the joints with an 8" knife gives you effectively 2 coats in one pass.

Haskell_Hunter
This is why I work 18 hours a day...to pay someone else to do the things I cannot / will not / should not do. buckhound and Rusty 2 Sapere aude. rocky
It sucks to do, but I never found a person that could do it better than me. I have been on 2 jobs where the professional tapers claimed that they were done. Then I bring out my light to show them how bad it actually is and they both offered to give money back. Are you for hire? Finding good drywallers/tapers seems to be a challenge, most just fly through jobs and don't pay attention to the details that matter.
