Bass Pro/Cabelas may not be a go....

This happened in early January.  If you look at the arbitrage the stock traded up close to the ~$65 acquisition price last year and held steady there as typically happens in an acquisition.

 

As the buyout became less clear it trended down, and now Cabela's is at its' pre-acquisition price, which not only suggests the deal is "not certain", but suggests that Wall Street believes the Bass Pro Shops deal is DEAD.  Because if there was still hope of this deal happening in the eyes of Wall Street, the arbitrage market would price the stock at a point between the $65 takeout price and the ~$50 pre-takeout price.

 

Net/net, if you're a fan of Cabela's like I am, rejoice!

I only have experiences with Cabelas in hamburg and Bass Pro in Florida, but for me Bass Pro blows cabelas totally out of the water, not even comparable. Better selection and MUCH cheaper.

Cabelas has gotten WAAAAY expensive and I have found they dont sand behind their products. I think they were better before they started building stores all over.

Yup and now that the yuppies can get their Columbia and North Face sweaters there you have to contend with them in there now also!

Gave up Both.

Amazon is my go to place if I do not need it in 4-5 days That is with the free shipping option.  

I had a reel that went bust after 2 months I called them complained I was not satisfied told me to keep the reel gave me Credit.
