Do You Have Limitations On Bears?

Will you limit yourself to a minimum size bear or will you take the first bear you see regardless of size/age?

 

I will not take a cub, nor a small bear, I think I will take a bear that I estimate to be at least 250 lbs. or better

Since I haven't taken a bear yet, I will not be setting my standards too high. I will shoot something that looks to be at least 150 lbs or better. I actually hope nothing huge comes in because I will be hunting by myself.

This is  a decision maker thats important too me.

I'll let an arrow fly at the first non-cub I see that offers me a good shot opportunity. My daughter's bear was just over 100#'s and my son's was 150#'s. The mounts look great. No need for me to wait on a big one. The farmer wants them gone and we'll oblige!

I have a small bear on camera at one spot he going first I think last year cub he on his own then we are going after the one I mist last year .

The bear absolutely must have a radio transmitter collar on, and have pretty colorful tags in both ears.

Size won't be a determining factor for me. No Cubs but a big Sow might get a 245gr. Powerbelt through the Lungs.

 

My decision to shoot or not will consist of distance from Truck.

 

Uphill or downhill to said Truck.

I will shoot 300 or bigger. I have 5 bears over 400 in my spots....all coming in during shooting light. Overall, more than 30 in 4 bait sites. Good luck to all. I am only hunting mon-wed...hope to be done mon morning

It sounds like you should be in the bear contest.  Come on, your team needs you.

Luckily I have a loader and 4 wheelers at my disposal, courtesy of the landowner.
