these are the options going to ASMFC  for approval .

I like that, but I like the 2 from shore at 17 too

I like the 5/10-6/30. Leave the breeders in the spring and once they move into the ocean take 3 over 18”.

Fluke breed in the fall/ winter 

and fish move from ocean into the bays then back to ocean as waters warm

Are these ocean-side only regs? Does the Delaware Bay stay at the 3 @ 17"+ ?

The 18+ inch regs means most people down here won't bring any home. We rarely see 18+" fluke in the southern bays. Are there some guys that catch them? I'm sure.. but most of the weekend-warrior amateurs don't. And all I know is - we are constantly amazed down here at the number of pics we see of the huge stripers and fluke getting caught up north (Sandy Hook and areas like that) that we never see down here.

why can't they just say 3 at 16.5" or better then?  I am charter member of the 16 3/4"" fluke club.

Why throw them back and get charged a 40% mortality on release . And have them just end up in a commercial net .

Only way our catch can ever affect the real numbers would be IF it was entirely a recreational fishery .

Hearing there is a big push to get shore bound anglers into the mix as has been at IBSP . They want those shore regs state wide .

so I expect that’s where we will see the push .

as much as I prefer 3 at 18 . I think 3 at 17 1/2” gets more guys being able to take some fish home .
