What to do for ticks

Hey guys. I'm going to be doing some upland hunting next week and I was wondering if you guys treat your clothes to prevent ticks. I've found so many on me and my dog while scouting for ducks this week. Wasn't sure if there was a trick to keep them off.

Anything with permethrin on your clothes only...not skin

Permethrin is your friend

Spray all your clothes, Hats and boots with permethrin and you will be 99% tick free. I never hunt without it. Also use it on your dog, here is a post from Sayer

Use permethrin and you will be amazed and it lasts for a few weeks before you have to re spray

My hunting clothes are sprayed, I just went in normal clothes as I stayed out of the bushes and walked a path. I was surprised to say the least.

Have used Sawyer treatment for years during turkey hunting in Morris, Warren and Hunterdon counties.  In all that time, from sitting on the ground, have never found a tick on me or my clothes.  Compare that to my wife and my neighbor who have both tested positive for Lyme from just working in their respective yards here in town.  Because of that, I've been treating my yardwork clothing with either the Sawyer product or daily bug repellant spray these days.

@DarthWaderTroj many threads on here on this. I'll send you some info I have that I posted here before -- buy permethrin, mix it with water, spray it on clothes to get it damp, let it dry for 2 hours outside. Stays effective for many weeks.

There is also camo clothing called ElimiTick,it has the Permethrin right in the fabric. Paints and shirt work well.
