Got possibly a 1/2 inch in my part of Gloucester County but need a lot more.

More rain expected. Checked quick what kind of infiltration I had after work. Looks to be 1”of absorption.  Might be just enough to revive existing plants and start new seed germination. We need a minimum of two shower/drizzling days a week for the next 6 weeks to get back to almost normal.

The original predictions in the northwest totaled 2” plus. I don’t believe we’ll get anywhere near that. Even heavy storms do no good with runoff and hard ground. Slow constant showers and fog is what we need.

Looks like some nasty t-storms moving through . Not ideal for newly planted seed but take what we are given .

If the ground weren’t so hard it wouldnt be as bad. Not complaining either way. Moisture is on the increase as fall progresses. Every drop counts, and this is the first opportunity to play catch up.

Just saw a severe thunderstorm alert for that area . Possible 60 mph wind gusts and large hail .

It’s “this” dry up in the mountains. Mature trees dropping dead leaves.

The ‘bone arse dry’ comment from LivesInTrees is apt.  So dry since late June in Hunterdon/Warren that I found almost no chanterelles this year in spots where I could hardly walk out of without bushels of them.

Got home from Pittsburgh after dropping our daughter off at college to find 3” in our rain gauge!  Asbury seems to have got a decent helping of rain at last.

My swamps are basically dry. First I've seen this since 2011, the year I bought here. Some of the good pinch points will change unless we get some serious rain to fill em back up.
