Chest Freezer

What size do you have?

I don't want small and not big, thinking this would be adequate for my needs

Mine is 50W X25D X32H. Slightly larger. It serves my needs well. Room for about 4 deer, a few Thanksgiving Turkeys, Pork Shoulders, Rib Roasts, etc.

It depends on how much you're putting in there and how fast you use it. Mine is 1 size down and works for me.  Honestly though, if you can do a standup I'd suggest that.  They self-defrost which is helpful.  Stuff gets lost in the bottom of chest freezers.  We had to clean out the built up ice recently and found pheasant...from 2015!

A standup is more user friendly if the size works for you.

One of my commercial chest freezers is 24x74x29 deep. I'm getting a temperature controller for temperature and efficiency for less than $40.

7 Cubic feet, $219 at Lowes.  You had to order freezers from Home Depot, fugg them!

Make sure you have room between it and the back wall. There is a minimum most require. Too tight and she will run hot

After the Mrs unplugged ours several weeks ago and we lost everything; I went and tagged the cord this time around.

I have a 7.5 cu chest freezer which works for me, but I would only replace it with an upright freezer. Uprights have it all over chest freezers.
