A few pics of my Maine snowmobiling trip

Recommended Posts

Finally found the time to get away for a quick hitter up to Maine. Arrived Sunday around noon and came back Wednesday. Much to my surprise the trails were fantastic. It’s crazy how the hills of western Maine hold the snow. Most of the riding was done south of Rangeley Lakes up to Oqussic

Looks like a nice trip.  See any wildlife?

I saw a few deer running alongside the trail. Also saw a bloody location on the trail where some coyotes murdered a deer. Nothing left but blood shit and hair. I saw a few bald eagles and lastly a Martin/mink or Fischer couldn’t tell what exactly it was. No moose on this trip but the occasional moose tracks across the trail.

Very nice ! Looks like a great trip ! I just got back from there , had my uncles funeral . We were headed to Roxbury pond to ice fish, but unfortunately we never made it . Any luck out there ?

People we know there have a house on the lake. They said they caught 18 the day before. We only pulled up a pickerel and lost a trout at the hole. We were only there for a few hours before we headed back to camp. They had 26 inches of ice.

Where were you in Maine? I have a bunch of friends (some of them do trail maintenance, etc) up that way and they were suffering from lack of snow.

South of the Rangeley lakes region. Dixfield/Jay area is where our camp is.
