Local corn??

Here in Taylor Ham country, sweet corn was late to be planted due to the heavy rains early this summer I was told earlier today. Local corn is still not local as it is being brought up from south Jersey. Some of the best corn we have gotten in the past was from the stand in Walpack, just before the hedgerows......Even that stand is not open as of yet....

Any day now, any day. Hopefully......Anyone getting any really good, sweet bicolor or Silver Queen yet by them? If you know of any out in NWNJ please post.

The self serve wagon stand on 94 near fredon has local corn.

Pretty sure Freeborns new stand across from Pub 517 in Allamuchy has been picking for at least a couple weeks now .

Tranquility farms has their own corn and it is very good.

No, not Lentinis, it's the little wagon at the end of a driveway, across and down a little from the morning star horse farm.

My wife's niece has been bringing us some from Donaldson's farm  Allen Rd. Hackettstown.

I normally buy from a local farm, who sells from their pick up truck along Rt.22 west in Lopatcong,  absolutely wonderful corn, but I have yet to see it

Been buying local sweet corn for 2 weeks Lou. Always great getting it the first ones for the year. That's at least one great thing from Jersey

I was actually just thinking about the local corn this morning passing all the corn fields on the way to the office. Last year guys were selling from picks by the road but still has to be a few weeks away. Maybe for labor day

Route 33 by Applegarth rd and another farm on Rt571 going into Roosevelt from Hightstown

I've been eating corn from my own garden but it was early corn that I started in Dixie cups two or three weeks before I planted the main crop outside

Mike, the stand you recommended is awesome! Thanks for the heads up, just around the corner from me, maybe 10 minutes. Picked up some corn earlier at Wightman Farms in Morristown before heading home to the stand on Rt 94. Just peeled both and the corn from Fredon is a bit smaller, but just as sweet. Wightman's was $.75 an ear and the stand in Fredon was $5/dozen. Making it t0night with some chicken on the grill. First local corn of the year for us. All good!
