idk whats up but I know that whats in that article is not what Evan Nappen told us at the gun law meeting last night other than the mental health stuff..

Was he talking about the NJ bills or the federal 2018 assault weapon bill?

Hope this PDF loads I suck at Cut and paste.  This is what I point at on all the Confusion and Interpretations of The Second Amendment that can go in any direction. From what I found it cannot be Deleted. As last night a Retired Supreme Court Justice Said Eliminate it.  It can under the same Constitution only be Amended.  The Danger we face is if that court becomes Liberal.  IMO there is no Clean sweep of Our Gun Ownership just some Rights that can be in their favor. They being Liberals Socialists.

Translation: the libs are freaking out to find blame in light of the last shooting, hence “fully-semi-automatic-Black-assault Rifle thingamagiggies and the NRA.  Knee jerk, feel good legislation emerges then everyone is happy and “safe” again. Then boom, something else happens.    Am I the only one who f-ing notices this??

The important paragraphs from this excellent article is:

Quote

...

For example, consider how the Second Amendment was treated in St. George Tucker's 1803 View of the Constitution of the United States, which was the first extended analysis and commentary published about the Constitution. For generations of law students, lawyers, and judges, Tucker's View served as a go-to con-law textbook.

Tucker was a veteran of the Revolutionary War, a colleague of James Madison, and a professor of law at the College of William and Mary. He observed the debates over the ratification of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights as they happened. And he had no doubt that the Second Amendment secured an individual right of the "nonmilitary" type. "This may be considered as the true palladium of liberty," Tucker wrote of the Second Amendment. "The right of self-defense is the first law of nature." In other words, the Heller majority's view of the Second Amendment is as old and venerable as the amendment itself.

U_DA MAN  as I stated many times the Interpretations are all over the Place and the Supreme Court does their own interpretation renders their Opinions and settle any other Interpretations That others have Made They Can Only Offer an Amendment to an amendment not Delete it. Voted on by The Senate and Congress. The question remains Can The president Veto it.   Federal law Superceeds State Law    Also Can a Federal Judge put a Temporary stop to any Gun Controls in the states???                                                                                                                      With all The pushback on Sanctuary Status in many places, I feel a lot of all this Panic Legislation on Gun Controls will once again settle till The next Shooting.

This is a good read.

Since the President does not have a constitutional role in the amendment process, the joint resolution does not go to the White House for signature or approval.
