Hey Jay, Replica Antler Question

Rusty

Recommended Posts

There are companies that make replica antlers.

1.  Can they make a match to an antler?  For example, we have the right side and need the left side.

2.  Is this something that you could take care of?  I would love to surprise her with a camo dipped skull mount of her buck.

Rusty I would think with the weather we had been having that bucks circle had tightened up.

They really like to lock down traveling .

I would bet his shed is pretty close to where she got him . Especially is he had recently dropped it

Making replica antlers is a pain in the azz. I know because I do it, and they are not cheap. I would suggest to you to get every friend, brother, cousin, and any convict out on work release to go look for the other side first.  :)

Define "not cheap".   :D

A single antler, 20" main beam,  G1-3s are 3", 10", and 7".  Bases are 5".

You can't really replicate a antler from numbers. You can make copies of antlers, but to make a whole antler from scratch is not financially feasible imo. You are better off finding a close match instead of trying to make one from scratch. That is why I suggested to you to get out there and find the other side. Good luck.

To make one from a trail cam pic and measurements will be several hundred $ and not sure the turnout would be great..

I've got an idea... I've never done it, but I think it would look cool..

Cut the skull in half from nose to back of head and mount it broadside on a mirror ;)
