suggestion for meat grinders

looking for good suggestions on meat grinders.  not looking to spend hundreds but dont want a POS, just an all around good product that will last.  what size should i be looking for dealing with a couple deer a year.  thanks

Look on eBay and Craigslist. A used Hobart will last a lifetime.

Cabelas 3/4 or 1 HP is a great machine that will last a lifetime.

Yea a Hobart is the way to go but probably out your price range even used. I would look for a commercial grade one made in the USA that's still in production so you can get parts if need be.

I purchased this one on sale for 129.99 last year. Works great. Just dont put the attachments in the dishwasher. The finish will come off.

Honestly harbor freight sells one for 50 dollars and it works very well . I have processed 12 deer through it and never had and issue whatsoever I just ran 50 pounds through it this week . I'm sure few others will chime in with the same response. I listened to some people on the other site who recommended it to me a few years ago. For 50 bucks if it breaks eventually I'll just buy another one

If you're in reasonable physical condition, I would recommend a Chop Rite #10 from eBay for about $20. It's made in the US and will last forever. Even though it's manual, it processes meat fast.

I used a smaller grinder like posted here many years ago.

While a little more money, the bigger grinders earn their keep.

You don't have to cut your pieces as small due to the larger neck size.

And the just get the job done much quicker, allowing the meat to not get as sticky.

 

If doing just a deer or two a season the extra time isn't as big a deal. if doing a few more than that the extra money spent on a bigger grinder that will never wear out in our lifetime is a better bargain.

 

I was lucky and bought a used 1 3/4 beast, it only comes out if doing a few deer the same day , otherwise I stick to the 1 horse as its easier to move  around.

Both get the job done quick and clean up is a breeze

I have the one kenny10177 has pictured above and it works great. Process about 2-5 deer a year with it, with no problem.
