I was surprised by the amount of deer activity yesterday, they were up on their feet feeding a good hour and a half before dark.

All my best setups are worst for S or SW winds, which is what these warm fronts bring.   Its not only the temps for me, it's the wind direction that brings it! I do have a few that will work but I am on the sidelines now anyway gearing up for Ohio rut kick-off...

In this spot the bedding area is straight uphill,  which is due west, so the only wind that really doesn't work here is an east wind.

The downside of shooting deer on really hot days is the need to get them quartered and in the fridge that same night.  We butcher our own so there was no just dropping it off at the butcher on the way home.
