Adirondack Trip 2022…..

Just got back from my annual trip. Came close twice on bucks but could not seal the deal. Temps swung from 60s and rain to teens and a few inches of snow by the end of the week. Jumped a buck from his bed on day 1 in the rain but could not get a shot. I was fortunate to cut a fresh buck track early in the day on Wednesday. Tracked him for 4 hours over 3 miles. He bedded twice but he kept taking me higher and higher up the mountain with very limited shooting opportunities. I was on his ass but he went in deep in the opposite direction. Had to give up on the track and make the long walk out. It was great hunt in which this buck pulled all the stops to dodge me. He back tracked on his own tracks and bedded twice on mountain knobs watching his back track. Maybe next year we I’ll cross paths again….

Nice! Great pictures!  Our family has a place in lake Algonquin in Hamilton country.  The ADKs are my favorite place to be.

Looks like you had an exciting adventure ,great pics .  We didn’t have the snow only rain and temps were in 50 and 60s . Saw one doe in all 3 days .

My thoughts exactly. He took me through some rugged country. I especially like the sign post rub he took me too right before crossing a beaver dam. I have to get a camera on that next year for sure!
