Might be worth a call to BCIT. They have a very good welding program and it’s close to you. Could be a good project for one of the welding students.

Awesome, I may take you up on that!  I have no idea what materials I'd need or where to get them, although I'd imagine most plumbing suppliers have steel pipe and a steel supplier may have both pipe and angle iron.  The horse mat I can get at Tractor Supply.  I'll shoot you a PM when I'm ready.  I might give the blade a test run before I do the mod, but I'll see what happens.  Now that I have it, we probably won't see snow that needs plowing for 10 years

Just go to a junk yard. Price of steel is crazy. Save some $$$.

You need the pipe( I do schedule 40 pipe) and a piece of flat stock minimum 1/4" flat stock. We can make that in about 15 minutes.

Once upon a time i needed some alum welding work done. 

I just walked into a local fabricating business/shop and asked if they could do it. 

20 bucks got it done on the spot while I waited... may be worth a shot
