Reds are 10 times more annoying than greys. They will get 2 ft from you in tree and bark at you all day long..

I wonder what the reason is you can't hunt reds. They seem to be pretty common.

Seen my second black squirrel this year.  Second one ever.  Trying to get a pic of it.  Guess you can hunt them then since they are a phase of grey?

I have black walnut in back of house and I gave reds just as much as Greys.  I’ve heard they will rob birds nests for eggs pesky animals!

I would think so.  I used to have one in pa where I hunted and thought it would make a great mount.  Never got him though

Most likely a dense thicket of pines, fir or hemlocks which is their preferred habitat.

Black squirrels are a pretty common site in Princeton and Hopewell area.

I believe this one is an American Red Squirrel "Pine Squirrel". Correct me of I'm wrong.
