I have pair for warm weather, one for cold and one pair for really cold and snow, so I pretty use them spread out and no one particular pair gets used an awful lot

Get a cheap pair of rubber boots at Tractor Supply, like $20.  I get a pair every year and just chuck them when they wear out.  I believe their Servus

Rubber is the only true water proof. You get what you pay for but i average 5 years to a pair and that's not terrible. I have Rocky snake boots for turkey and early bow but their claim of water proof is FAR from accurate. I've sent them back twice for exchange but each new pair leaks. I do like them for dry ground way more than rubber though.

 This is one of the pair of Muck boots I have, extended cuff at calf is really nice.  Just saw on sale great price I paid around $200 for mine

Mazzgolf is right on with inferior rubber boots, but I had some success with Mucks. The pair on left were 65 bucks and no leaks. They are light weight field boots. They are only 1 yr old. The Mucks on right are 8 yrs old and still okay. I have Gooped the neoprene to keep them in operation during our trips into the deplorable rube swamps of the Piney Bogs.

I got these about 10 years ago. Still going strong. 
 

I got these for colder weather, and use them while stalking in the snow in NH in Nov.

Paid maybe $75 for the green pair and less than $50 for the Gander Mountain ones. 
 

I’ve learned that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on good quality rubber boots.

I bet they are a lot heavier than the Muck Woody Sports that I wear.  Makes a big difference in a day of walking.

I also have a pair of Mucks that are for deep winter that I haven't field tested yet.  The Gander Mountain ones aren't too bad.  The green rubber boots are something you walk back to the truck to get if you realize you're going to get your boots swamped.

I have Muck Arctic Pro's for sitting in the winter, would never try to walk to far in them.   Some models are very light, like the ones I mentioned and are great for walking all day in Maine.  I have not used my Lacrosse since I got the Woody Sports, 3 years ago. Light, easy on and off.
