Having hernia surgery Feb 3, I won't be in any kind of shape for the party.:(

You'll be fine, no excuses.  I had hernia surgery on Friday, an 8 inch incision, mesh, the whole 9 yards.  Saturday I drove to a Zac Brown concert and Monday I was back painting.  You're a lot tougher than I am,  3 weeks post surgery you'll be back to running your 4 minute miles.

oh yes you will !   You will be in perfect shape to -

1) Drive

2) Talk

3) Drink

4) Eat

5) even run a chainsaw and possibly swing a maul - I would just avoid heavy lifting or twisting.

3-4 weeks after surgery you will be FINE.      Just be smart.  Avoiding this party - not smart!

Plenty of time to recover from that, over 3 weeks.

Had the hernia surgery  this morning. Four hernias. Two on one side and one on the other. One by the belly button. Feel pretty darn good able to walk around already Doctor said it was OK. They did it laparoscopically, just a few small cuts.

Good. I have had 2. The one about 20 years ago felt like the seed me up to tight. Took a week to stand straight up.

Good luck and hope for a quick recovery
