Morels

Recommended Posts

Any day now in Northern NJ as long as the current warm temps don't upset the apple cart...

Apparently the sweet point is between 55F and 61F at 10 cm - >61F and it switches off entirely for the year.

Here is the soil temperature map per county:-

https://www.njweather.org/maps/nj-statewide-soil-temperatures-10cm

Obviously, different areas will have their own unique micro-climates which may already be bearing morels (think sheltered south facing slopes).

Please post your harvests...

I use to have a big oak tree in my yard and for a few years a polish couple would ring the door bell and ask if they could pick the mushrooms growing under the oak......they said they would pickle them......I gave them permission , they were grateful......then a few years later that tree fell into my house......that was the end of the mushrooms.......
