Matty
Pretty fish! Congrats! I know those are wild fish, but the pretty colors made me think about some of the fish I've caught and seen this year.... Has anyone else noticed that more of the stocked rainbows are much prettier this year? Good color, full fins! Not all of them, but more. I'm used to dull, silver colored, mutant fins from most years. Something change? Edited April 21, 2017 by Matty hemlock 1 “I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear
Bucksnbows
Pretty fish! Congrats! I know those are wild fish, but the pretty colors made me think about some of the fish I've caught and seen this year.... Has anyone else noticed that more of the stocked rainbows are much prettier this year? Good color, full fins! Not all of them, but more. I'm used to dull, silver colored, mutant fins from most years. Something change? They have made some big advances in the fish food area the last several years, and colors of the fish are often better as a result. The nubby fin issue is one of having too many fish in a concrete raceway, and there's nothing they can do about that. Some fish will keep decent pectoral fins and others will wear theirs down. A good guide learns quickly to keep his fingers over the nubby fin for any photos.
