Turkey Contest 2018

I wanted to start a general post regarding spring turkey contest. Any ideas or thoughts? How about teams of 2 or 3?  You pick your teammates? or is individual more favorable? Thoughts??   Springs around the corner!!

Kick around ideas from the rules, to prizes, to team sizing and selection! I think Gobblergetter might have to count as 2 or 3 people on a team though

I ran the last Turkey contest on now officially dead Buck Barn.

The rules were simple:

 

Rules


1) Photo of check in sheet and actual photo of the bird + detailing weight, spur length and beard length.
2) 1 bird per person but can be upgraded 1 time.
3) Use the NTWF scoring system
4) Any weapon – same score
5) Contest will run from April 24th to May 31st and the last entry we will allow will be June 1st.
6) Last day to add hunters will be April 23rd

 

This was an individual contest but previous years, since they had more members they had teams of 3.

Each player would make his experience known and the teams were picked as fair as possible, mixing experienced with inexperienced hunters:

 

Guys to try to make the picking of teams fair and that there are no super teams can you please post next to your name the group indicating how many birds you got last 3 years. Thank you

A group= 0-2
B group=3-5
C group=5+

 

 

Maybe that's a start?
