Snakes and Landscape Netting

Recommended Posts

I have a pet california King --  A few years ago I had an idea to make a cave of sorts out of rocks  -- I used a 2" long piece of 1/2" copper pipe as a brace for something

It only took a day or 2 but the snake managed to put himself thru the piece of 1/2" pipe twice -- went thru once then doubled back and went thru again so he was folded over, stuck in the pipe

I ended up bagging the snake in a pillow case and cutting a hole to let the pipe and folded over snake thru the hole so I could work on it

Took a wet washcloth and kept it on the pipe and snake and proceeded to use a cut off wheel in a dremel to cut the pipe longways

Took awhile but I managed to cut the pipe enough that I was able to open it up and release the snake -- Not one injury to either of us

That was maybe 13 years ago -- He's still here and around 60" long now

Nice. Glad to see someone help and release snakes.

I couldn't agree more.

They look calm but I know how mean they get and FAST

Yeah, racers are usually pretty feisty.  They're probably exhausted from being stuck.
