Giant velvet lifesize buck

Just finished this preserve giant for a client. Was a fun project. Not everyday I get to do a lifesize deer, let alone a velvet rack with a summer coat.

I usually have the racks freeze dried to preserve them..

This particular one was half rotten with maggots in it so it was stripped and I applied an artificial velvet and airbrushed it slightly to give it some variety in the color. 

You can also inject tanning chemicals under velvet or soak in denatured alcohol but the best finished look is freeze dried.
