They love deer carcasses. They will chase the vultures and buzzards away and own it. Had a fresh coyote kill shed buck edge of my yard a month ago. Eagle on it first day.  Buzzards all staging in trees around it but would not go near.  Day two - a big RT Hawk owned it in the morning then left.  Only then did the buzzards and vultures get their turn.
