Hi and congrats. Did you actually weigh it before gutting? I'm just curious as to how accurate the formula is based on dressed weight only.

155 lbs (dressed) x 1.26 = 195.3 lbs (estimated live weight)

I don’t think it’s an exact “to the pound” formula, it’s a close approximation. Weighed it before and after field dressing. The meat weight was given to me by butcher, If I have time I will weigh meat. There was some loss due to it being shot last season in front shoulder and had some green play-dough like meat there that was cut out. I was told 1/3 loss after gutting, 1/3 loss after deboning and 1/3 is meat but that too is approximate I guess.
