Barnegant Bay clams???

looks like to ocean fishing mite be on hold Saturday  due to the weather. So I was thinking of heading to Barnegant to do some crabbing/claming. 

Water real dirty down there? Would you purge the clams? Whats your opinion?

I would think its clean enough for eating

Dig em, shuckem,  and suckem Some people soak them in a bucket of seawater  to get them to spit sand. They can drown  if you do it too long. Pm me for additional information.

I'm down at the north end of LBI and the water has gotten cleaner every day post storm last week. So you are good for the clams

I always put them in a clam basket as i clam and purge them at home again as well. I use a little corn meal and water for 30 minutes prior to cooking, but thats just me

Ive always just let them go through a tide cycle to clean them.

Breads them from the inside , so sticks better for frying them
