Salmon River

Fished Tuesday and Wednesday in the DSR. After hooking several salmon last year and not landing any, I went up w my group much better prepared. A member on here recommended a Temple Fork Outfitters Deer Creek 7wt switch rod a while back. I took his and advice and was also awarded with some Intel that put us on consistent action for 2 days. I was able to land several Kings and catch and release a beautiful steelhead. Amazing trip,,,,,,,if you are thinking about trying it, I highly recommend going up there.  Spending the rest of the week at my friend's cabin in upstate NY,,,,,riding quads, shooting guns, etc. Huge thank you to the member on here,,,,,you know who you are. It's what outdoorsmanship is all about

I was planning to join a group of buddies that do an annual salmon camp up there, but now have a dam(n) removal that week here in NJ.  Maybe I'll run up and freeze my nuts off for chrome this winter instead.  Less crowded which I prefer.

Looks like a great time ! Those switch rods are perfect for up there makes landing them a lot easier. Can’t wait to get up there again real soon.

I would like to take Jr up there one of these years, maybe next year. Never fished for salmon, will be all new to me....Will be a blast I think....

You should take him you guys would love it. Since you trout fish so much it would be very easy to pick up.

Anytime in fact try and go when we are up there and I will show you the ropes. I have as much fun teaching someone and watching when they hook up then catching myself. Ok maybe not as fun but still enjoy it.

Awesome pictures and sounds like a great time. I have only been up later in the season for steelhead before I started to hunt. Will have to try this one of these years
