Can anyone stretch a fox?

My neighbor hit it on the road. It's in perfect condition. I would like to learn a little more before I attempt it myself.

Not so bad, I got it skinned ok, and made a board to the on line specs. Also washed the fur. It's drying now.

Save the brains if you can, mixed with some water makes a good tanning solution.

You have to turn fox pelts about 24 hours after you put it on the board. It starts fur in and then finishes fur out until completely dry

If he didn't turn it by now it will be stiff as the board it is on

Got it turned, looks really good. Anyone want to tan it? Not so sure about fleshing it without tearing it.

You can send it to a Tannery. Google them. Moyer's, USA fox, tubinary (spelling may be wrong) should run you 20 to $30

Or Sunday at 1pm at the northern regional office in Clinton is the trapper's meeting. You could probably stop by and ask Jim to send it out to get tanned. He takes a bunch of furs to get tanned, that's who I give mine to. I got to give him a coyote, red and a coon .

If it's not flesh before stretching it, it may rot on you. Hopefully no red meat was on it.

He fleshed it. I talked the threw it and got pics of finished job before it was turned
