I make my own for about $30 or $40 - (1) 50 # bag of Di-calcium phosphate; (1) 50# stock salt and; (2) 50# trace mineral salt.  Agway will have the ingredients.  Good luck !

I put my minerals out yesterday.. I'm hearing now that this mixture is for multiple spots . Oh well. I dumped the whole 250 lbs here.

Does stopped in middle of the night to have a look. Had a few pics of them.

Jay I can see what you're plan is the deer will dig a hole so deep they can't get out.  Good thinking bro that's one way to keep them on your property

Couple of pics of a mineral station and friend and I set up today. 100lbs. of dicalcium phosphate and trace mineral salt, with a block and molasses to top it off. Thanks for all the help in this thread.

I have been doing the minerals for several years and believe it does make a difference. It is still a little to early to put them out, you want to do it once the ground doesn't freeze anymore. I always wait until sometime in March

Was going to Tractor Supply tomorrow for minerals for 2 spots. Are the trace mineral blocks not that great from there?

 

I know that deer walk right past the 50 lb white salt blocks I have bought from there......

Goto the agway in Blairstown. .they had all the stuff needed. It ran me $80-90 for 250 lbs of minerals. I used it all for 1 spot, but it could have been used for multiple spots. I imagine 10 spots with 25lbs at each probably.

Its more cost effective to make your own and you are not getting just salt with some minerals. If you make it they will come lol

I buy enough to mix 200 lbs at a time and use about 25 lbs per site. I have four sites on a 124 acre property, and all are near natural water supplies.
