If you Google deer mineral recipes they will almost all be identical. You can make your own stuff for pennies on the dollar compared to buying it in the store, but don't go with store bought ones that are just all salt.

I saw the best results when i took an already established licking area/ hole and added the minerals (dicalphosphate) and put shelled corn with molasses...the buck i grew put on more then anything ive ever seen.

My cousin did some research and told me to do this:

1 part dicalcium phosphate

2 parts general purpose mineral (red)

1 part fine stock salthttp://www.jerseyjaystaxidermy.com

Jay that's what I use and you can get it all at Tickners in Hacketstown

 

I have been doing the minerals for several years and believe it does make a difference. It is still a little to early to put them out, you want to do it once the ground doesn't freeze anymore. I always wait until sometime in March

TSC sells them. They dont have the calcium needed for bone growth they are more of a salt lick with some minerals

I do have some bags if anyone is near Easton. 7lbs in a 1gal ziplock $4.

I put my minerals out yesterday.. I'm hearing now that this mixture is for multiple spots . Oh well. I dumped the whole 250 lbs here.

 

Does stopped in middle of the night to have a look. Had a few pics of them.

Lol.... Jay to are going to have every deer in the neighborhood coming over to visit. I use these mineral sites to do an inventory of all the bucks coming around
