12/05/16.....CHECK IN

Was in 55 from 6-11. On heard 7 shots and 3 of them came in a single burst. Saw nothing. Came home for lunch and to dry out. Should be back out by 1:00. Trying to get one on public land and save my private piece for permit shotgun.

I was out in 55 also...heard 3 shots all day. Saw nothing. Heard nothing. Pretty evening sit though...no wind and cool temps.

My final update was shots that rang out around 5:18 pm. Followed by truck headlights in the field. The locals strike again. Slob hunters in full effect. Saw a dozen deer today. All doe. All were being moved by other hunters.

Saw nothing in the morning and left stand around 10:30 to go to club for lunch - 1st time in years I didn't sit all day.  Left club at 1 to sit a different stand.  Saw a half-rack Y buck within 20 minutes that I had no interest in, tho it came right to me.  I watched a real nice (big) 8 tend a doe for over two hours.  Every time she bolted towards the ridge my stand was on, he got up and cut her off.  Never got closer than 150 yards.  He was bedded near her when I climbed down for the night.
